The Wedding

mmmm good
Few comments needed. What a beautiful, wonderful, perfect wedding and reception

The bride and groom strawberries

What beautiful sisters. Your turn will come.

Let's hear it for healthy food.

Absolutely gorgeous - presentation and taste.

The Family History.

What wonderful people (and very nice looking, too).

Didn't we already see you two? The photographers love you.
Mom and Dad, you did a superb job in raising, teaching, and setting the perfect example.

We are ready for life.

Off to BYU and then a mission. For me, this wedding stuff will have to wait.

The Last Post

Lots has happened since we last wrote. This is Betty. She lives near Shanghai China and was very enthusiastic about returning home and sharing the gospel. Her baptism was very sweet.

Betty poses with Bishop Roger Porter. He is a great Bishop. He has a whole page on Wiki.

Mom does a wonderful job for "Kick Off Seminary multi-stake convention.

Another view. Still looks wonderful. Her training was even better. She presented two times.

The monument at the Old North Bridge. This is where the first shots were fired beginning the Revolutionary War. Mom's Great Great ____Grandfather was part of the original "Minute Men" group of rebels. This event is referred to as the "shot heard round the World".

Chelsea at the Old North Bridge. Doesn't she look lovely.

We really enjoyed having Tyler and Chelsea for a weekend. They were wonderful guests.

Not far from North Bridge was Walden's Pond.

Fresh Pond in Autumn. Beautiful.

Our Cambridge Home. It was a wonderful place to live. We have loved it here in Cambridge, but it will be great to be in old Huntington Beach again.

Our Apartment building. If you count down from the upper left corner, four floors - we are the 4th - 6th windows. Neat.

You can tell mom is in charge of the camera now. Each of our Wednesday Night students had a name plate.

Our classroom at EDS. We usually had at least 20 or more students. It was a great class - mostly Harvard and MIT students. Contrary to perceived opinion, these students are very humble and ready to learn. Bright, yes but motivated to do the right things. We have loved teaching the class' here in Boston.

The Mayflower 2. We do not know what happened to the Mayflower 1. It may have been involved in a water skiing accident.

Do you like my cane? It matches my suit. I think the boat is older than I am, but we can't be sure. Certainly the original was.

The Plymouth Rock Monument.

How nice to find a rock with the correct year on it. It must have surprised the pilgrims when they first saw it.

Near Plymouth. No comment necessary.

The Fall season is beautiful.

More Autumn

Our backyard.

The Longfellow Park Chapel is coming along. Not soon enough for us to move back in before we have to go.

EDS - our temporary home.

More.

Yellow is nice.

Our lone Seminary student from Colorado. Cierra left yesterday for home, her treatments completed. She had a wonderful Apostolic Blessing from Elder Ballard. It was a priviledge for me to stand with him as he blessed her. The Lord, as always, showers us with Tender Mercies.

The Belmont Chapel, next to the Temple.

The landscaping next to the Chapel.

Mom and I hosted the Senior Missionary training (lunch and a speaker, Brother Chapman). It turned out very well. We had to leave early to meet with Elder Ballard and transport Cierra.

LIFE GOES ON

This is a picture of our new digs, called the Episcopal Divinity School - EDS for short. We miss our old chapel but that is old news. We have been extremely busy. Last week Dad had an epidural with 2 needles and much more pain than previously but the results seem much better. We had an interview with our area CES supervisor the day of my surgery that lasted over 3 hours until 20 minutes before we had to leave for our Wednesday teaching assignment. We have also been teaching at Tufts Dental School on Fridays. We will have a couple of weeks off at the end of August.

We had two in service training sessions with our two stakes. They went very well. They were pleased and so were we. All but a couple of the teachers came. The stake leaders carried out their responsibilities well and did a great job. The programs are in much better shape than last year.

The Sister missionaries came for dinner last Sunday evening along with an investigator. Betty is a young adult from China and is scheduled for baptism this Saturday. Saturday is also the day Suzanne and her ward (including Thomas for the first time) are coming to the Boston Temple for baptisms. We are planning to be at both events, which are next door to each other.

Life is busy. Life is good. The Lord has been generous with His tender mercies for our family.

More views of the EDS campus. It is quite beautiful.

Sharon, Vermont where Joseph Smith was born. We traveled with the other CES missionaries and our professional staff.

The monument is 38 1/2 feet high - one foot for each year of his life.

David Bokovoy shows how short 38 1/2 years can be.

The 4th of July is a big thing in Boston, the center of the Revolutionary War. Neil Diamond sang with the Boston Pops Orchestra which we viewed from our apartment (via TV). We could see from our apt. window the fireworks from the St. Charles River.

Fresh Pond - again

Thomas Liddle was ordained a deacon and received the Aaronic Priesthood from his Grandfather. What a privilege for me.

Our group went on a tour to Topsfield MA. the place where Joseph Smith's Grandfather lived.

The Smith family burial plot.

Tomm (sp) Chapman, his brother-in-law Chris, and David Bokovoy in front of Erastus Snow's home in Salem.

We also visited Marblehead (the view above) which is located next to Salem.
